How the Wave came to life
Wave of Change began with a simple but powerful idea: what if every fan of Ren Gill - the Welsh musician and artist known for his raw storytelling and genre-blending music - donated just one dollar or euro? With around 2 million subscribers at the time, the potential to make a real impact was undeniable. This idea became a plan and through action became reality. This spark of inspiration led to the launch of a global fundraiser for Ren’s birthday on March 29th 2025, a date that marked the beginning of something much bigger than we imagined when we started.
The first fundraiser was more than just a campaign - it was a spiritual birthday gift to Ren. A way for the community to say we see you, we care, and we want to carry your message forward. Inspired by his music, his honesty, and his battle with chronic illnesses like Lyme disease, fans and creators alike came together to turn admiration into action. Through social media, promotion and live streams by members of the Youtube the reactor community, and a shared sense of purpose, the #waveofchange2025 movement took shape.
In just 20 days, €12,000 was raised for the Pasteur Institute, a world-renowned non-profit advancing groundbreaking medical research. This incredible achievement showed us what’s possible when people come together with intention and heart.
But this is only the beginning.
What started with Ren has grown into something larger - a global community movement for positive change. While Ren was the inspiration, Wave of Change isn’t just for his fans. Anyone who believes in kindness, collaboration, and making a difference is welcome. This is about uniting people from all walks of life to support causes that matter and to uplift one another in the process.
A rising tide lifts all ships.
We’re building online community spaces, like a Discord server, to keep the energy going and to connect people who want to be part of something meaningful. Our next fundraiser is planned for October, and we’re only gaining momentum.
Together, as Renegades, friends, and other change makers, we believe that small ripples of kindness and contribution can come together to form a powerful wave. Every action matters. Every voice counts. Join us as we continue to grow this Wave of Change - and make a lasting impact on the world.

I have always believed in our capability, as humans, to band together for the greater good. The idea for the project stemmed from my interest in Welsh artist Ren who suffers from an advanced form of Lyme disease. After reflecting on our power as a community to create change, the Wave of Change began as a fundraiser for medical research.
Witnessing the engagement of people around the globe and everyone's motivation to be part of a greater project, Joline and I decided to expand the scope of the Wave to social media platforms and spaces, where we could have open conversations and debates about ongoing crises. My goal is to create international initiatives with the Wave of Change, where we can all come together to bring necessary & positive change to the world.

I discovered Ren’s music and videos in the fall of 2024, and was deeply inspired by his authenticity and message of love, unity, and honesty. For much of my life, fear guided my choices. Seeing someone live and create with such openness showed me another way.
I believe that small actions, when combined, can spark meaningful change. When people come together in a global effort, we can truly have agency and a positive impact on the world. Our first fundraiser proved to Lisa and me just how powerful collective effort can be, and I’m excited to keep building on that momentum with continued global Wave of Change initiatives with all of you. Together.
Fundraisers and a global community
Wave of Change is a community-driven initiative that organises online fundraisers twice a year - in March and October - to support meaningful causes. These efforts are powered by passionate community members, content creators and YouTube reactors who support through live streams, promotion, and community engagement.
Donations go directly to the selected beneficiaries. In March 2025, the recipient was the Pasteur Institute, with funds supporting critical medical research.
Starting the Wave
In March 2025, our first fundraiser brought together 319 donors who raised €12.000 for the Pasteur Institute, supporting critical medical research.
The name Wave of Change carries a double meaning. It reflects our mission to bring a wave of positive change to the world - not just once, but twice a year - as well as the idea that even the smallest amounts of change, the coins in your pocket or between the couch cushions, can add up to something powerful.
Wave of Change is about harnessing the power of people working together. Just as small ripples come together to form a powerful wave, every little bit of change - both in spirit and in monetary contributions - can create a significant impact. By pooling our efforts, we build momentum and become part of something larger than ourselves: a shared movement to make the world a better place.
